Hello lovely readers! Today’s blog is a little different, those of you who’ve followed me from the beginning will be aware that I strongly support my local RSPCA animal shelter. So today’s post is about the events they have on this year which you should get yourselves down to (if you’re local that is).
Saturday 25th March 2017 – Spring Open Day at the animal centre from 11am – 3pm.
The sun will be shining (hopefully) and what better way to jump into spring than supporting the Chesterfield RSPCA for a day of fun, frolics, cakes and best of all… animals!
There’s going to be games, stalls, baked goods, not one, not two but three tombolas (one for humans, one for pets and of course the famous chocolate one). Not to mention the chance to walk around the animal centre and meet the dogs, cats, rabbits and other small animals. Even if you’re not in the market for adopting a new pet. There’s the option to sponsor an animal or pledge your support in a number of different ways. Or if you just want to have a look around then that’s fine too.
Even if the sun isn’t shining, the event is being held indoors so you don’t need your wellies or umbrella just yourself! All proceeds will go towards the rebuild appeal which has already being hugely successful! Thank you all for your help and contributions but there’s still a long way to go and supporting this day will really make the difference!
The Famous Fun Dog Show at Eastwood Park on the 17th June from 11am to 4pm.
The fun dog show is always a fantastic event, held at Eastwood Park in Hasland. Not only is there shopping, tombolas, games, eating and bouncing, there is of course the main event; cheering on your pooch or favourite pooch in the wide range of different shows going on. From the handsomest fella, to the best rescue dog there’s something for every dog from the rough and ready to the most pampered of pooches. All funds support the running of the animal shelter and there will be dogs from the shelter walking round on the day looking for a new forever home.
The Christmas Fayre on the 12th November at Hasland Village Hall 11am to 2pm.
A beautiful event to raise money for the animals at the centre over the festive period. Get into the Christmas spirit with stalls selling crafts, candles, gifts and jewellery. Along with games and tombolas it wouldn’t be a Christmas fayre without a visit from Father Christmas. Last year over £2,000 was raised so bring along all the family and your friends too!
If you’re not local or can’t make it for any other reasons, you can still pledge your support by donating online choosing to support either the animal centre or the rebuild appeal. Any donation big or small is appreciated more than I can say.
